There are tricks that can help—ones that don't require any gadget.
* Religious buildings: Christian churches are typically lined up east-west, with the main altar facing east. A mosque contains a niche in one of its walls that points toward Mecca, and a synagogue usually positions the Torah Ark at its eastern side.
* Other people: Observe the crowds. In the late afternoon, pedestrians will tend to walk toward a bus stop or train station. In the morning, they'll walk in the opposite direction.
* Clouds: To keep your sense of direction, first orient yourself, then note the direction clouds are heading. Then, if you get mixed up, you won't lose your positioning as you can again observe which way the clouds are moving.
* Road alignment: Roads do not spring up randomly, they grow to carry traffic - and the bulk of traffic is either heading into or out of a town. So the biggest roads tend to be aligned in a certain way, depending on whether you are in the center or on the outskirts.
In the north or south of town, the major roads will tend to be aligned north/south. In the northwest or southeast, they will have a bias towards northwest/southeast. This is why road maps of big towns show a radial pattern.
It is common sense, but very few people realize this when they feel lost in a big city.

The American Podiatric Medical Association says that our feet provide several red flags about our health. Here are just a few to think about:
1. Toenails with spoon-shaped dents
What it means: Anemia (iron deficiency) often shows up as an unnatural, concave or spoonlike shape to the toes' nail beds, especially in moderate-to-severe cases.
2. Hairless feet or toes
What it means: Poor circulation, usually caused by vascular disease, can make hair disappear from the feet.
3. Frequent foot cramping (charley horses)
What it means: If the sudden stab of a foot cramp happens often, your diet may lack sufficient calcium, potassium, or magnesium.
4. Red flag: A sore that won't heal on the bottom of the foot
What it means: This is a major clue to diabetes. Elevated blood glucose levels lead to nerve damage in the feet which means that minor scrapes or cuts caused by pressure or friction could go unnoticed. If left untreated, these ulcers can lead to infection and even amputation.

The new version is purple, curvy, has fancy graphics on it and is small enough to fit on a kitchen counter. The light bulb is gone. It is heated more like a traditional oven.
The new version costs $49.99 which is $20 more than the last version.
According to Richard Wiseman, a professor of psychology at Hertfordshire University in Great Britain, we subconsciously associate names with those of the rich and famous. To test his theory, he asked 7,000 male and female volunteers to imagine they were about to meet a group of people. They were then given a list of 20 male and 20 female names and asked to identify those they thought were the most successful, the most attractive and the luckiest. Women were far more judgmental in how they assessed others based on their name.
